Ok, let me say first that I am in no way rich...but of course I want fireworks even though I prob cant afford it. We booked our wedding on the 4th of July at the Thatched Cottage! I'm hoping we get lucky and there are some fireworks we can see but I would much rather have them as a big part of our night. My FH said that Im crazy and if their expensive any other time of the year they are going to be double on the 4th...
Im thinking if I dont get flowers and just do candelabras or something I could save money and maybe come up with the money to do the fireworks. Crazy right? Does anyone know how much they might cost?

Re: Fireworks!
I do not know thatched cottage area but ask them if there is usually fireworks that are done in view of thatched cottage. look around the neighborhood. sometimes a firehouse might do it, find out beforehand.

I am from the area of the Thatched Cottage and I am 99% sure you can see the Ash Rocken (sp?) fire works from there! I would ask the Thacthed Cottage to confirm that, they will know for sure!

Re: Fireworks!
1st make sure that your RH halls allows fireworks to be done on their grounds. Contact Grucci, they are the best. If you need a name FM me. I've worked with them in the past. For a 4-5 minute show its 5K. You can slow down the speed that they launch the fireworks at giving you 6-9(est) minutes. But it depends. You will also have to get permits through the town that your RH is located in. You also might have to pay for extra security to guard off any launch sites.
It gets to be very expensive. If there was a place to launch at my RH I would have done it... but sadly not!
GL and FM me if you need anymore info.

Re: Fireworks!
I had a 4th of july wedding and it was way to expensive for Grucci!! SO at the end of the night we handed out sparklers..lol. We also came in wearing a 4th of july gear!! Dancing to Living in AMERICA!! Everyone Loved it!! I dont have the pictures here at work but I will post on Monday the sparklers and Matchbooks we did if you want me too!! I Also had Blue in my BOk.. I didnt want to do all red white and Blue, but wanted to incorporate it without being too extreme!! LOL.
since you aren't getting married married til 2010, you should lurke around there on the 4th of july this year and see if you can see them...i bet you can and then it won't cost you anything!

I agree- find out if there are any close by-- why pay the extra money when they are right there!

Re: Fireworks!
our RH told us it would be about 10 grand and they would need the entire community surrounding to agree. and even if we had everything and got all the permits, if those living near the RH said no we wouldnt be able to and we'd be out the money. at this point i think we may do sparklers, but FH wants to send one of his friends out to just set some off, but i dont want anyone getting in trouble

Re: Fireworks!
ive seen it for 10k for 5-7 mins BUT even if someone still was able to afford it, fireworks are illegal in NY and Rh's wont be able to allow anyone to do fireworks there. There are no permits given to businesses like that to allow it.
Yes you can buy mortars for cheaper elsewhere. Theres a place in yonkers, theres some places in PA but alot wont have mortars, north carolina and further out like that you can get mortars. BUT mortars which is what you'll want, you cant just light, you need to have pipes to put them in so they go up or else they will explode on the ground. I know somebody who buys these fireworks every year for 4th of july and they had somebody make all the pipes for them, and then you'll need to find somebody to light them all, and again you'll have to be careful bc with them going off alot the pipes get hot and after a while mortars might explode alot lower, this is why its good if you have lots of pipes, ive seen it happen where it exploded too low. These arent that cheap either, even when you go to places that sell them cheaper, its not expensive like hiring a place but depending on how many you'll need, can be anywhere from $300 and up, the smaller mortars will start at the price, for 10-12inch mortars will be more pricey. BUt again the Rh wont allow it, they cant do it when professionals come in so they wont allow you to do it yourself.
