FIRST CLASS TICKETS - I'M VENTING

Are anyone of you other brides experienceing this....I just happened to mention to my FI about our travelplans and final honeymoon choices, it's a cruise or all inclusive resort in Puerta Plata, well he has the nerve to say we're flying 1st class aren't we?...I'm like DUH do I have to rebook now, I was budgeting the travel arrangements, now I'm looking at using up most of my frequent flier miles...I'm so pissed....what to do now?

How about meeting him halfway?? Can you do business class?? This is why you can't involve the men sometimes -- they just make things more complicated! Discuss the options with him and decide where you both feel is more important to put your money into. Good luck!

BTW -- we're aren't going first class in exchange for more days!!

yeah, i would TOTALLY do that... IMO first class is not worth the extra $$$. if you get upgraded the day of and/or pull the 'we are on our honeymoon' story and the airlines bite, i would go for it. i wouldn't do it otherwise...

run numbers and scenarios by FH, he may reconsider...

Does he always fly first class? Seems like an odd assumption if it's not normal for him.
I know my company used to fly us everywhere first class and it is a tough adjustment to go back to economy (but the money differential is just too much to justify it for most trips)

first class isn't worth the extra money to me either. i would price out how much it is to upgrade, let FH know, and use it towards something else. Maybe he doesn't realize that how much it can cost.

I've never flown first class - would love too one day but i just cant budget that in right now - is he being serious that he assumed you were flying first class? If he wanted that he should have said something or offered to do it himself!

Me personally, I'm trying to rack up the miles so that we CAN fly first class. We've never done it before, and I can't think of a better time than to splurge a little for a honeymoon. But that's just my opinion. I think everyone else offered great advice though. :o)

The FH has become spoiled we have flown first class to a lot of destinations, but I also held a 2nd job with the airlines...as for me I don't care what cabin it is for domestic flights under 4 hours...if its over 5 I could see doing business or first...we'll see...honestly since 9/11 all of the carriers have drastically cut back on the service in 1st class...you would only knew this if you fly on a weekly basis but thanks ladies for your input
