first dance

Is anyone dancing the entire song for there first dance without inviting people up? I feel selfish BUT this is the only time I will have alone with him and I want that few minutes to enjoy my first dance. sorry to vent but everyone I say this to has a 'comment'
Am I wrong?

No you aren't wrong!!! Your guests will have the entire night to get on the dance floor. I'm sure they won't mind standing back during ONE song to watch you dance with your DH!!!

It is your wedding. Do what you want. I think it is great to have that alone time with your FH. I say dance away and let them watch. It is only one song.

Fh and I are dancing the first dance entirely by ourselves. I mean we are spending a lot of money on dance lessons- we need to show off.

I think we will dance to the entire first song ourselves, and then choose a second song to dance to and invite everyone onto the dance floor for that song.

I didnt realize that people get invited to dance with you to your song. I am not doing that, I am going to be selfish and pick another for everyone to come up to.

We are not inviting anyone up..at Fg's aunts wedding, ten seconds into the song they invited people, bridal party first then the rest, you could barely hear the song, everyone was loud and they were crushed - so we are going solo...I am dedicating 2nd song ( slow one) to FH and they can join us for that

I have been to several weddings where it was just the Bride & Groom dancing for the whole song. I don't see any problem if that is what you both want.

Us too! I've been to a lot of weddings where they do it this way, don't feel selfish! It is your's and your FH's day, do what makes you both happy!!

We are, I think it is a perfect time to soak everything in and spend that time alone for those few minutes, b/c those will probably be the only few minutes we will have alone!
