Oh no , we had the BP come in for the last minute of the song and then it went into the 2nd slow song for all to join in- for the most part it was just us we had a dance routine so we wanted the spotlight for sure but not all the attention, so the DJ's Q was when DH dipped me to bring in the BP only-

halfway through we'll have parents and than all guests. Our bridal party is uneven so I don't know how else to do it.

We danced alone, but the BP and the parents were standing along the dance floor - so we moved up to the 'top' of the dance floor - if that makes any sense! It was nice and different and they were a part of it even though my DH and I (heehee, first time writing that) danced alone.

Our song was over 6 minutes - therefore we danced for a while and then after a couple of minutes the bridal party and immediate family and then the last minute and a half was the entire place

We had a very short first dance, just us - ('I Wanna Grow Old with You - Adam Sandler') and then our second song was our wedding song, which we asked BP and parents and then guests to join (it was a four minute song). So, we got the best of both worlds. I have to say, it went by SO fast, and we were kind of lost in each other, I don't think I would have noticed if other people joined us or not.
ETA: Sometimes, JMHO, people get bored watching people slow dance, (I notice this happens ALOT during father/daughter, mother/son dance) and start talking (loudly). This is why for our father/daughter and mother/son dances, we asked the other fathers to bring their daughters on the floor (or a partner of their choice), and same for moms and sons (or a partner of mom's choice). It was REALLY cute, and people really liked it. If you don't have a routine for people to watch, I would ask people to join. But that's just me.

Nope. My side doesn't know his side and since we aren't having a rehearsal dinner they will have not met each other beforehand. Having them dance together will make them feel awkward. I know I would feel awkward dancing with someone I didn't know. There are a lot of wedding traditions I can do without. Thisis one of them - that and the arch made by the BP as the bride and groom enter. Not my style.
