FH and I are having a jazz trio with a singer play at our wedding throughout the night during the 'down times' - when people are eating, mostly. We LOVE the singer - he is a real artist and his voice is amazing. Anyway, our dj company told us that he could also sing during the 'formalities' if we wanted - dances, cake cutting, etc. I was thinking today I'd really like to have him sing the song for our first dance (he plays the piano as well) - what do you think? Is this a cheesy idea? I don't know if FH will like the idea - our song will most likely be 'Beautiful in my eyes' . . .thoughts? TIA!

I a huge jazz fan. I love jazz music! Something about the oldies that I love about that period.I think it's a great idea, this way you get a variation of both musicians. I'm not sure of the genre of the song 'Beautiful In My Eyes' but if it's similiar to jazz/pop genre then I would go with the jazz trio since they will be familarized with that particular song. I would recommend going to a rehearsal to hear them sing live rather than on the day of the wedding. This way you can correct anything if it doesn't sound right.

I love this idea! to actually get to dance to ur song while it being sung live, is just sounds very special go for it! but def as someone suggested go 1st and see how well they perform the song and if u can keep up with them

i am biased, since that is part of my *surprise* so i say DO IT! definately adds an extra element...and im sure at the beginning of the party it will really surprise the crowd toO!
