Just curious to see what you are all doing with the first dance. Are you & FH just going to dance alone on the floor for the whole song or are you having the dj invite everyone to join you? I kind of want to have it just me & FH but would that be wrong?

I think I'll have our guests join us 1/2 way thru because later on FH & I are dancing to a song alone for the father/daughter dance part.

We played 2 songs. We danced the first dance alone. This was a great choice I thought we felt that we where all alone. Towards the end of the first song and the start of the 2nd our wedding party came out and then our guests.

We are having everyone join in... hopefully, FAST, because both of us have two left feet. We tried taking a dance class, but we were so bad, the instruction practically told us to give it up. We didn't even bother to go to the last session of the 4.
omg, that's soooo funny. my fh and i have NEVER danced together (isnt that weird?) so, of course, we have to take lessons also and the instructor told us to get into a slow dance position and both of us stood there and were like 'ummm... we don't know how...'
anyway, answer to the question, yeah we're having everyone join us after like a minute, we're chose an upbeat song (eight days a week by the beatles) because it's a short song and we originally thought we would have to do it by ourselves, but i don't even want to be there by ourselves for less than 3 minutes!

I want it to be just me and my FH, but I think FH is too nervous and will want people to join in ... so we may let everyone join after the first verse or something ....

Fh and I want people to join, but it's because our song is SO long! It's like 6 min, which doesn't sound long, but we thought about everyone just standing there staring at us and we definitely decided to invite people to join.
It's not wrong at all for it to be just you and your fh! Go for it!

Our DJ also asked us and we decided to have everyone join in!! I've never been to a wedding where everyone didn't join in at some point!

DH and I danced alone...we took ballroom dance class in college and we practiced every night for a week we want to show off our dancing skills ...
