I bustled mine before my first dance because I was not about to drag my dress while dancing.

I held mine for the first dance and then went out to bustle it up. I wanted everyone to see the full dress as I walked in.

I can see where you are coming from on this one, but I am a clutz and I would trip. They will see the full dress during the ceremony.

i have a strap to hold up my train for the first dance. i am getting married at the hall and after the ceremony and pics if i will have time to even eat at the cocktail hour to have it bustled for the first dance

According to Emily Post and Martha Stewart you don't bustle your gown until after your 1st dance....my bridal shop attendant reminded me of that also
