Mike and I both LOVE 'All I Want is You' (we are huge U2 fans), and we were thinking about it for our first dance song...for those of you that know the song, I always got the impression that the song carries a message that one person is too into 'material' possessions and all the other wants is to love?? Am I going too deep? Please let me know what you think!

I think it's a great first dance song, but it's LONG. Not sure if you want like a 6plus minute song.
I don't know if it's necessarily about a materialistic person, but the message it right...who cares about posessions when you've got the person you love and who loves you.

OMG, that was our second choice. I don't think the song is too into materials things. It always reminds me of Reality Bites. We ended up going with Billy Joel's 'Make you feel my love' originally done by Bob Dylan. I love songs that are deep. That songs has so much hidden meaning. I think its great, plus not to generic like 'From this Moment' no offense guys

Ok good great! This means that I was going too deep...I know its a long song but what I think we'll do is, at the beginning of the long guitar part we'll have the DJ ask everyone to join us...or somewhere in the middle...

ah, the original and classic. still my favorite video of all time...BUT
I want to use the live version from the concert at Slane Castle..from U2 Go Home on the Elevation tour....he dedicates it to his lovely wife

That's a great one! We want to use their version of Everlasting Love....our band does it pretty well...not 100% sure if we want an upbeat song or a slow song yet.

FH and I got engaged before going to a U2 concert in May. I said our song should 'Still haven't found what I'm looking for' His mom did not think it was funny. I was just kidding!

All I Want Is You is one of my favorite U2 songs - it's beautiful for a first dance. The end is a long instrumental; maybe the DJ could fade out of it or the band can modify the ending.
