I know we have time but I started looking for fist dance songs....I dont want a typical first dance song, I had found a song I fell in love with 'these are the special times by Christina Aguilera and when I had fh listen he hated it....he doesnt like her. but I fell in love with the song, so now I found Truly madly deeply by Cascada and he doesnt like that either.......Im fed up ..........NO first dance thats it..

well what are you looking to do? are you looking for a funky dance (thriller??) or something sweet? what does HE want?? FH and I had it easy, we've had 'our' song since the 2nd week of dating...

Awwww...FH and I had a lot of trouble with this too. I had wanted an upbeat 1st dance song and he wanted a slow one. I'm happy to say that I won!! Maybe you can keep playing the song you really want until: a. he grows to loves or b. he tells you 'whatever song you want', so you'll stop playing it.

check out sheri miller's 'right here, right now'
FH agreed that he liked it...and sheri is basically an 'undiscovered artist'....so i think FH liked the fact that NOT EVERYONE KNEW the song....so if your FH is anything like that (which maybe is the case with christina and cascada), this is worth a try

thank you for all your help.....i told him im going to let HIM pick the song....we originally had a deal that I was choosing all the ceremony music and the first dance and cake cutting and he would choose all the other music. Our taste in music is different. With the first dance I want something that no one really has used, but not cheesy he doent like the way Christinas voice sounds when she hits the high notes, but I dont think people care its more about what the words are than anything. I dont know what to do, I may just give up and see what he picks out and we compromise? (he wants all club music w a hip hop twist...I told him its a wedding not a club

aww i'm sorry!!! that's annoying!! i really like cascada's version of truly madly deeply!! good luck with the search!! maybe tell fh to start looking and YOU do the vetoing?

This is one thing I'm thankful that FH left up to me and he seems to be ok with my choices. I almost wish he would give me some sugestions though. It's nice that your FH cares enough about the 1st song, but he needs to relax with his feelings about the singers!! Let him know the Christina song isn't about HER, it's about you guys and you LOVE it. Good Luck!!!

my friend and hubby had a hard time finding a song for them bc they were into completely different types of music. he allowed her to sing and record their first dance song to make it more special for the both of them... its all about compromise! have him pick out 3 songs and u do the same... find the similarities about the songs, what makes you like them? the lyrics? the musicality? def can be a super tough decision! good luck!!!

We are doing Queen - You're my best friend...it is upbeat, but the lyrics are still really nice. Would that work for you maybe?

Ughhh - this is so hard!!! I would def let him pick a few songs and have his describe why he likes the song - then you can see his feelings and hopefully agree with him!!
