First Dances

One of the other posts inspired me to write this( so Im sorry if some of you have answered it already)

Has anyone picked their first song? FH and I cant decide on a song to save our lives

I really like'Take my Breath Away' by Jessica Simpson. He says thats not a good 'love song?'

we might be doing 'After All' by Peter Cetera...Not set in stone yet

We have no idea either. FH doesn't want to use any song that was written in the past 20 years. In other words, no 'pop' songs; nothing you would hear on the radio. This is going to be quite a challenge, its a good thing we have a year and a half to think about it!

I agree that I like the oldies better than today pop. We also didn't want a 'typical wedding song' like From the Moment or like that. We are going with 'You're my Home' by Billy Joel

I'm stuck on two. One is a duet by Newsboys and Natalie Grant called 'When God Made You'.

and the other is a song by Chayanne called 'Tiempo de Valz' translates to Time for a waltz. It's a great song to have choreographed.

I want 'Hot for Teacher' by Van Halen but FH nixed the idea. THE NERVE!

Right now I am hovering between 'I Believe in You and Me' by the Four Tops and 'Ribbon in the Sky' by Stevie Wonder. That man can sing anything and make me cry!

I am using 'For Once In My life' by Stevie Wonder, or 'Fly Me To The Moon' by Frank Sinatra. My FSIL used 'More Today Than Yestersay' by Spiral Staircase. It was very upbeat & everyone loved it.

My best friend is using 'Amazed' that this 'their' song since they started going out

I love 'From this Moment' but my FI and I also love 'In your arms' or eyes by Shania too
