Kind of nervous - Stepped on the scale - recorded the weight and I made the realization that the 'diet' that I have taken over - just isnt working... well I am going with my MOH (who has successfully kept off 48lbs for over a year! ) to her gym to do her workout tonight - hopefully we can keep this more of a regular thing - hopefully 3-4 nights a week.. i would love that.. I am hoping that we can start some type of weight loss blog where we can all check in every week and offer each other encouraging thoughts and all jump for joy in each other successes and help each other thru weight loss set backs... hope your all with me on this one - i am going to need all of the help I can get... a little over 8 months left to go until the wedding and I want to lose about 50 lbs - tho I would settle at 45 ... I will keep you girls updated..

Re: First Day To The New Me
Good luck!!!
I started walking during my lunch break at work... I take a half hour to eat and relax and a half hour to walk. It's not much, but it's more than I had been doing!
I just started today though, we'll see how long it lasts.

Re: First Day To The New Me
Try keeping a food diary. It really helps. A recently published study showed people who kept a food diary lost twice as much weight as those who simply dieted. This site is free and is really good:

Re: First Day To The New Me
I know exactly how you feel. I stepped on scale and am at my highest weight..EVER! Am heading to the gym tonight and need to get started soon.
Talked to my friend who has lost 37lbs and she said she joined weight watchers end of january and since then has been successfully losing weight and kept it off..
She watches what she eats and goes 2-3x/week to gym so I am starting to t hink it may be money well spent. She said the mtgs really helped (hearing other peoples stories etc)
