So I went to my first wedding salon to try on some dresses and boy is it overwhelming. I think I know what style I'm looking for and defnitely want to shop around and see what is out there. The owner was extremely nice. However, I failed to take the style numbers of the dresses b/c she told me she would take care of it but at the end it was her record not mine. Should I call her back? How do you know when the dress is 'the one'? LOL

Re: First dress shopping stop
I was actually surprised by how overwhelmed I was my first time dress shopping as well. After that first time though, I was an old pro. I was also lucky that the first shop I went to had the nicest people ever working there. They didn't hesitate to tell me which designer I was looking at and kept me strictly in budget which I greatly appreciated.
Did they at least give you the designer's names? If so, it's pretty easy to find the style number online. Unless one dress in particular stood out to you, I probably wouldn't call back yet. Try a few different stores. I know it's very cliched to say 'you'll know the one when you put it on' but it's very true. I didn't have any epiphany or tears or anything like that, but as soon as I put my dress on I felt like a million bucks. I felt beautiful and bridely and I jsut KNEW. I still went to try on a few more dresses after that, but it was pretty much a done deal.
Good luck! Happy shopping!

Thank you so much. Your post def makes me feel better. The ones that really stood out I do remember the designer and started to search them online and found 2 of them. I honestly don't know how I will react when I find 'the one' so we shall. I have 2 appts on Saturday. Thanks again!

Re: First dress shopping stop
I did not cry....but I knew it was the one when I went home and could NOT stop thinking about it or staring at the picture. I left the store thinking I was going to get one dress...yet another dress I couldn't get out of my mind...so went back to try it on a 2nd time and knew it was it.
