Make sure to bring the shoes you plan to wear, your veil and headpiece and the bra that you will be wearing day of.

The seamstress will see how much may need to be hemmed off the ground and will discuss what type of bustle you want.

I went to Phyllis and she showed me 6 different bustles and I chose the french one.

Well, for me (because I'm soooo short and they had to take up alot of material (pics in bio) I was standing for over 2 hours....it was good practice being in my shoes for a long period of time though!

BUT... I loved every minute of it because I was so in love with my dress!

When I went for my first fitting I was so excited because I lost so much weight the dress fell off me lol..... I loved my dress from day one so I just could not wait to see it on me and was so happy with how it came out. Make sure you have your undergarments that makes such a difference in how the dress will look on you. Where did you get your dress?

oh and by the way I was there for 3 hours!!!!!

Is it ok that I don't have my shoes yet? I plan to bring a pair that are close in heel size. I have my veil also..but it is super wrinkled. I just want to see how it looks w/the dress...that should be fine right?

Make sure you tell your seamstress then that these are not the shoes you will be wearing on the day of!!!

The most important thing is that you have your bra/undergarments and your shoes- if you don't have your shoes have ones that are the same height, otherwise your hem will be off.
my first fitting didn't take too long, I think I was there about 20 minutes. She pinned the top where she was going to take it in, and pinned the bottom for the hem. The bustle wasn't done until the very end.
I had a bustle that tied underneath with ribbons- which I would totally recommend, after hearing so many girls who said their bustle broke - mine didn't budge at all.

I believe it's because they want the balance of the dress.. I ordered my dress in September...(17th to be exact) and it took 9 months to come in...that's crazy isn't it?
