First fitting

So I had a break down and burst in to tears after trying on my dress yesterday during the fitting. I love the style of my dress, but thought the color wasn't what I expected. I order the dress in ivory, which I always thought was white, but it look cream or even yellowish.. The people at the dress shop stated it was the fluorescent lighting... My girls were sure either, but kept telling me it looked white in the bright lights... I'm SO confused. The pictures are in my photo album, they are the one's taking in bad lighting.

im sorry youre disappointed in the color... but what was it that made you think ivory was white? most dresses come in both colors

ETA: I looked at your pics and you look phenomenal... i wouldnt worry at all about the dress color

The gown is beautiful and it look amazing in the pics in your album. Really...the dress does look white in the pics. If I didn't know the gown was ivory I would think it WAS white. Don't worry or stress...you look amazing!!

I thought ivory was kinda like a light creme color, but I just saw the pics for ur dress and it def looks white, it looks very pretty on u

Thanks SO much ladies for all your kind and supporting comments. I really appreciate it.. I guess in comparing dresses I've seen in the past and what was explained to me, ivory was always closer to white, not cream. However, the ladies at the shop mentioned each designer's definition of the color is different and i was also in bad lighting. I think i may just need to relax...

I just looked at your dress. I would have thought it was white if you didnt mention anything. It looks great!

Gosh, your dress is beautiful and you look amazing in it....I would kill to have a figure like yours...trust me, nobody is going to examine the shade of it.. I am wearing an ivory dress, and it looks ivory when put next to white, but otherwise it don't look too yellow or ivory alone...Don't worry...Enjoy.. I went for my first fitting Sat and I was second guessing myself at first, but when I put it on, I feel in love again..

Some parts do look white. I think you chose the right color for the design. I dont know if the lace detail would show as well if your dress was another shade.
The dress looks great.

Was your fitting at night by any chance?
I had something similar happen to me.
I went to try the dress on at night when it came in and was so sure they ordered the wrong color- that wasnt what it looked like when I tried the sample on in the daytime with all the natural light in the room. I went for my fitting a couple of weeks ago during day and sure enough the color looked totally different. It very well could be the lighting in the store.
