Really?? Didn't they cap your alterations?? Are you going over the cap? Is the gown way too big on you?

Sorry for all the questions... you know my 1st fitting is in a week so I'm worried about all this stuff too...

Who is your seamstress btw??

but don't most ppl have a cap??

I know when I purchased my dress. ...she told me our alterations cap at 245, but a bustle is a separate charge of 93.00....so i cant expect to pay more than that....
she got me prepared....did ur place say anything like that ?

Yes there is a cap on the alterations 210! The bustle was separate...
The fitting went VERY well. It is just the money that is flying out the
door that is freaking me out!
My seamstress is from Bridal Reflections her name is ZIZI...
She is so nice

Hey, Jennifer, at least your dress in.

But you should have a cap. Everything is so expensive, I can't wait until everything is paid for.

Re: first fitting experience

most bridal salons charge a lot for their alterations because not too many brides have their own seamstress they deal w/ on a regular. I was fortunate to have one;therfore, I did not get hit over the head with the outrageous prices I've herad about. My dress only needed a bustle and I had the cap sleeves removed. She charged me $75.

YIKES!!! The cap on my bustle was $90 also, cap on my alterations is $245 but I made include a french bustle in that because I knew the bustle I wanted would be more expensive... now I have a feeling I'm going to exceed taht cap too!!!

But I'm glad to hear it went well!!

How long did it take, by the way??

Re: first fitting experience

The original cap on my bustle was 91, but since i wanted a
different kind (what kind that is i don't know) it was more...

Re: first fitting experience

I don't think my place has cap on the alterations!

I already paid $100 to have it made to my length.
I doubt it will need to be taken in, but the straps probably need to be adjusted since I have uneven shoulders.

I had no idea bustles were so expensive. $91 for the basic is a lot!
My fitting is in 2 weeks.
