first fitting today!! (with vendor rave)
So today I decided to try on my dress b/c I've lost some weight and wanted to see how the dress fit now. (In Feb. it was 'like a glove' but I've dropped a few pounds since) Sooooo, it's a little loose (aside from needing a bustle done) so FMIL says, let's go, she packs up my dress and we went to a place in Syosset (where we live) and they were closed ![]()
...so we stopped at this house on Jackson Ave that has a little sign in the yard 'Dressmaker & Alterations By Marianna' She was great!!! Very friendly and didn't care that we walked in on a Saturday afternoon.....the price seemed fine as well. $150 for the bustle and bodice ( being taken in) and she is pressing it when all is finished!!! I am soooo glad I didn't go back to David's for my fitting because, well, they lack in friendliness and I prefer friendly people. It's crazy, I know, but friendly works for me![]()
