I tried to get a bond for my Goddaughter, it was a complete and total waste to bother. I just gave her a check instead. The maturity from what I understood, was pretty bad.......but then again I wasn't paying much attention!!!

To answer your question, I have to go to my boss's daughter's Communion, and I am giving $100, but only because they were VERY generous to us at the wedding....

I think $50 is appropriate, and I usually give a little gift like a frame or cross....Paula in my office has all Communion stuff like that so it's very convenient!

im not religious at all, so this might sound like a ridiculous question... do boys use rosary beads??? maybe i can make him one of those... or is that only a catholic thing??

Whatdo you mean 'a Catholic thing'? Isn't the person Catholic? You could make rosary beads, but they would probably go to better 'use' for a girl.....

Episcopalian(? sp) is very similar to Catholic & is Christian.

Boys can/do use rosary beads also.

We're going to a Communion next week & plan on giving $50

Episcopal is different than Catholic. Episcopalian's do not use rosary beads. Money would be a good gift.

If I were to give an actual gift, I think it shoudl be something useful like a videogame/ board game/ book etc

I know when I got religious gifts, I had more than one bible/rosary/cross/frame and all I wanted was $ or toys....As an adult I understand the meaning behind them but if you put yourself in kids' shoes, its a waste

I am going to an extravagant communion party- my cousin is overdoing it in my opinion...however her theory is that he daughter will have a fancy sweet 16 and her son wont....she is very generous with Fh and I with gifts for holidays.we are probably giving $100.00... or I may do 75 and a gift...

$50 is a good gift for a communion - or get a gift - personally i dont get religious gifts because i am not christian - i would get a gift cerificate to a toy store or something useful like that
