First line of wedding drama

First line of wedding drama

Grrrrrrrr!!

The entire wedding process has been so wonderful and easy.............WITH THE EXCEPTION OF INVITATIONS!!

FH and I could not agree on ANYTHING. Finding invitations was the only stressful part, because we're both perfectionists and indecisive. And we have completely different visions in this area..

So we finally find one that we agree on-we order it (you saw my happy post). The proof gets faxed to us..

and the font is all lowercased. which bothers me slightly but I can get over it.

I show my mom the proofs today-and she absolutely hates it! She thinks it's too plain and the font is not 'enough'.

And she does have a point-for our uber- glamorous Vera Wang and Burberry wedding, the invitation is very minimalistic.

So NOW we have to go back to the invitation place and RE SELECT...after putting a deposit down on ones we thought we liked. I hope we don't have to pay any penalties.
And when we go back we will bring my mother.

How annoying! Thankfully we are ahead of schedule on these, but geez!

Its so hilarious that the most dramatic part of the wedding planning process has been the invitations.
Thankfully, Invitations & Beyond is an amazing vendor and I know they will work with us on this.

Sooo frustrating BUT you are ahead of schedule and I'm sure will find the perfect invite (which will be super chic!!). Luckily you're using a vendor you really like!!!

I can share your pain with invitations:
I decided that was one part of the wedding I wanted to save some $ on, so I originally looked into Carlson Craft (the Something Different line). My parents are Direct Buy members and we'd get 50% list price for those invites. How awesome, right?!?

WRONG!!! Turns out Carlson Craft will NOT show you a proof until you order the invite. I could possibly understand this if they showed you a visual online of what the invite would look like with your wording, but NOPE.. they don't offer 'that service'!?!?

I now officially refuse to give Carlson Craft ANY of my money and it looks like I'll be working with Tessa on custom invites.. so much for saving money huh

I just wanted to give you the heads up about Carlson Craft incase you were looking into them. I'm totally a perfectionist myself and CANNOT imagine buying an invite without seeing what it would look like.

Aww im sorry! Isnt it funny that little things like fonts would cause such problems? Im sure you never thought that would happen when you started your wedding planning!

I threw a bridezilla tantrum and even slapped my printer when it ate, again, another envelope and I cried my eyes out when I had to send a few invites out in different envelopes. ha ha Seriously, who cries over an envelope??

Honestly once you get the font straightened out you will feel so much better so however many times it takes to get it right, just keep on doing it. Good luck!
