First Phone Call Regarding Invites

We got our first call last night from my cousin. He wanted to know if his 2 kids were invited to my wedding (they are 5 yrs old and 2 yrs old). Sorry but the only kids that will be at my wedding are the ones in my bridal party. My mom said he sounded insulted but oh well.

Let me add.... our invitations aren't even out yet. And we invited the kids to the engagement party and they didn't bring them because they wanted to enjoy themselves. So then why would you want to bring them to the wedding?

People just don't get it.

When one of my relatives found out we weren't having any children at our wedding her response was...

'I don't think that's a very good idea. I just really hope my son doesn't hate you for the rest of his life after this.'

Ummm, yeah, I hope so too. But he's still not coming to the wedding.

not to put a damper on anything, but it gets worse...trust me...

I know this is what we're going to look forward to as well. People just don't get it...weddings are way to expensive to have little kids running around and wasting the food. They get cranky, tired and then what... your guests have to leave early to put little Johnny to sleep. Annoying!

nothing can quite prepare you...out of 50 people from FH's side being invited, a total of 11, yes 11 of his family members are coming....amazing for a group of people that 'couldn't wait to come'...makes me so

GRRR!!! The battles have already begun on our end and we are sticking to our guns - No KIDS! To avoid confusion on all parts we are including 'ADULT RECEPTION' on our invites - not something I really wanted to do, but to avoid additional BS I will!

PS - they will get over it and if they don't too F'n bad

Oh my goodness . . . people just need to be adult about it and respect your decision to not have children there.

Ughhh!!!!!!!!! I don't get it! I would never do that to someone if the shoe was on the other foot!

I had one of DH nieces say to me that she wouldn't be able to come to the wedding because we're not having children and she wouldn't be able to gat a babysitter.
This was in January of 2006, or wedding wasn't until September of 2006.
She thought by saying that I would change my mind about having children at OUR wedding.
The only children at the wedding were the ones that were in the wedding.

You have to stick to your guns, if you say NO CHILDREN , then mean NO CHILDREN
