It depends on what type of venue you want. It seems like you want it in the off months in the afternoon. I dont see why that would be a problem. Do you have a specific price range?

Maybe it's the halls you are looking into. I have 80 ppl on my gust list and it was hard for us because evryone wanted a 100ppl minumum.

Which halls have you looked into..?

I had a very hard time finding a hall that had a nice room for a smaller wedding. I have a 50 person minimu for a Sunday evening in May. You might want to look into these RH's

my RH only asked for a 100 person min., where have you looked? what style do you want?

Our hall had the upstairs room at 100 ppl. min. I didnt really have trouble finding places with 100 ppl. min. it was only under that when it was hard. Where have you looked?

we had a really tough time as well. we wanted a saturday night wedding in june, and places really just aren't willing to book a wedding of 100 people when they know they could book a much bigger one on that night. we booked with fox hollow because they offered us a 110 minimum.

My FH and I are off to such a rough start planning our wedding. It seems like everywhere I call requires a minimum of 150 guests... We were hoping to keep the wedding small and even with all our B-list invites we're only up to 125. Is anyone else finding this a problem? What RH are most accomodating?!

i had an 80 person minimum at the Swan Club for 4/5/09 in the Contessa room.

My min was 80 at CLM

Also check out restaurants/mini catering halls such as the Irish Coffee Pub, Gatsby, etc.

It is a little bit furstrating in the beginning looking for a venue for small wedding but it will get easier. You may have to compromise a little like getting married during offpeak season and chosing Thursday or Friday or a weekend afternoon. I having my wedding on Thursday in April and the Chateau Briand was able to accomodate my wedding I only have garantee 75pp

Alot of places are not for the smaller wedding which is why we decided to have the destination... :)

We have a list of about 75, and we were able to cut back the minimums from 100+ to 75 once we went from a Saturday to a Sunday idea for the wedding. You might also want to try smaller venues or places with many different sized rooms.
