First QOTD 6/23

Weddings nowadays seem to steer clear of tradition.
What traditional thing are you DEF doing at your wedding and you know you arent going to budge on?

We will not see each other before the wedding. It's going to necessitate to large-ish gap between the church and the ceremony, but it's something important to us and I'll make sure to have lots of things for our OOT guests to do during that time.

Second, we're gettting married in the church. FH is working with the church to get confirmed before the wedding and all that jazz.

We will NOT be doing the garter or BO-K toss, it's just not me, so we're going to skip it.

Does the church you belong to require him to be confirmed? My mom was married in the catholic church and I was never even baptized although my dad is confirmed. My brother got married in a church and he was only baptized and made his communion. I know that some churches are really strict about it though.

I'm wearing white. I told FH that i want him to wear a black tux.

Other than that, I really cant think of anything.

I think my dad is going to walk me down the aisle. If my grandfather was alive I was going to ask him but he passed in January.

I am not sure if my chruch will require it, although FH would like to do it. My priest called back last week to tell us they didn't have the book for 2010 and to call back in November. Then when I mentioned FH wanted to be confirmed he wanted to check the schedule and get back to me about that.

I thought we might have this problem. FH was only bapitzed. My church is very strict. After two weeks of waiting for an answer, they said it was fine since I was active in the church.

Overall I think it depends on the church. It was an option for him to sign some piece of paper saying he did not believe in the Catholic Church but would raise his children Catholic.
