First real IL vent
We asked the ILs for their input to the guest list almost 2 years ago, when we first started planning. We told them how far out we were going in my fam and told them they could invite whatever relatives they wanted. We sat with them and made a list. Once it was all together we emailed it to them to view. We emailed it to them again for addresses a few months later.
Last night we're sitting in their living room and FIL is talking about some party his cousins are throwing and then proceeds to say 'I told them not to do it in sept because they have a wedding to attend.' FH and I look at each other and ask these peoples names. They don't sound familiar. FH checks the guest list and nope they aren't on it. FILs say 'well you HAVE to invite them.' FH gives them a hard time but adds 4 more people to our already large list. The funny thing is last month FIL was telling us to cut it.
Then MIL goes on to say these people need to be invited to the shower too. I know the shower invites went out a while ago and I know my Mom has no more invites. MIL was like 'well she can just send them a note or something.' How tacky. Shes like 'well they probably won't come but you'll get nice gifts from them' i wanted to die from the tackiness.
I just don't understand how this didn't come up 2 years ago.
