My DJ thinks that the first dance should be me and FH, and then EVERYONE.. and then do a spotlight dance just the 2 of us AFTER we cut the cake.. Personally, I want to dance with my FH to 2 different songs ALONE.. I was really annoyed that someone would even suggest that we have other people dancing to OUR wedding song

I think it should depend on the length of the song, if it is really long then you might want to get the BP up there with you 1/2 way through so it doesn't seem like an eternity for everyone but if it is a short song like at lasy then I think you can keep it just B & G

it was just the two of us for about half the song, then we asked the band to invite everyone on the floor.

I wanted me and FH only but he has serious stage fright...not to mention he can't dance and he knows it. So we're having the bridal party and parents come in about half way through the song.

We're doing two first songs for our combined 'first dance'. The first one, 'Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis)' is only 2 minutes... that will be just me and my FH. The second one is Bon Jovi's 'Thank You For Loving Me', which my DJ says is about 4 minutes, so between the two songs, the DJ will invite everyone up on the dance floor. But we will be alone for Elvis song... nice compromise.

First dance will be just me & DH. Our BP is uneven, so someone would have to sit if we invited them up halfway through the song. Besides, I don't want to dance with the BP.
