First Time Dress Shopping

I'm headed to LI for Thanksgiving and am planning my first dress shopping experience. Based on reviews here, I thought I'd check out David's Bridal first (get an idea of what I like) and then check out Bridal Reflections and Lillettes.

How much time should I spend at each store appointment?

Should I go to other stores instead?

Any other dress shopping suggestions?

i went to davids bridal and they were ok, i spent about 2 hours there, and really didnt find anything..... i love lillettes hands down!!! i was there for about an hour and a half, and thats where i eneded up getting my dress. And pat was amazing, she actually picked the dress that i got.... when u go tell them Danielle from Polara Jewelrs sent u!!
