FH and I went to a wedding where they had those Japanese fighting fish on the table. It was awesome! I'd love to do something similar, but I worry about the fish. I don't think anyone took them home after (and I wouldn't want to force them on my guests anyway) so I'm not sure where they ended up. Does anyone know anything about this? It would be great if we could rent them and return them... TIA

My cousin did that for her sweet 16. It was really nice but some of them died from the travel :(

Originally I was thinking about doing that too... but someone told me they went to a party and the fish died on the way there, so they were looking at a dead fish the whole time.

Re: fish centerpieces
We went to a wedding that did this and there was a note on the table that the person at the table who rsvp'd won the centerpiece. Needless to say, it was my FMIL and she is not happy now she has a fish to clean and take care of, others we spoke to felt the same way.

I would be careful with that idea. I have heard a few stories of a few guys getting drunk, and then swallowing the goldfish that were in the centerpieces. EW YUCK! I guess some guys can get a little rowdy. It has happened more then on one occasion. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I just discovered that while googling...there's actually a you tube video of drunk wedding guests drinking the goldfish. Horrible!

Re: fish centerpieces
I did something like this at my graduation party... but I did water frogs instead of fish with a wreath of flowers. It was really pretty and everyone took home a CP!!!

Re: fish centerpieces
My brother did this for his engagement party and it looked really nice. My dad (the D.j.) played a game after dinner and whoever won, got to take home the centerpieces. =)
