Fish consumption

Has anyone found a good website that lists specifically what types of fish and shellfish are safe to eat while pregnant?

I don't know of any websites, but my dr. told me no 'fatty' fish like swordfish, tuna.... Flounder, and fish like that are ok - in moderation. Sorry - I don't know about the shellfish.

I wouldn't go by any website - I would strictly go by what your Dr says. There are SOOO many differing opinions out there on this that your Dr is really the only one you should listen to because he knows your specific situation.

That said, my Dr said to stay away from all bottom feeding fish and limit tuna to once per week (a certain amt of ounces), no swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish, orange roughy, marlin or grouper.

I'm not crazy about fish as it is so that's wasn't hard BUT.... I DO love sushi and shellfish... which I have NOT stayed away from! (I mean shrimp?? Come on now!)

Anyway, here's a site but again -- go by what your doc says because they all seem to have a difference of opinion on this topic. (Except maybe for the top 3 fish I named)
