FH and I enjoy to fish - nothing too crazy. We usally fish in bay park off the pier and do some crabbing too.. but lately the snapper just arent even biting.. we want to be able to catch some fish, but we dont have a boat
can anoyone recommend some places to go (where a boat is not needed)?

But this website has locations on the island you could look into
Not sure where you are from or where you go...but I know the dock near Chateau La Mer - my dad used to take us there. Also - not sure about not needing a boat - but i hear Captree is supposed to be good!!!

i was just going to recommend that place in howard beach - i live right by there and people usually have fun i will ask FH tonight though - he owns a bait store so this is his area of expertise

Re: FISHING???
We like to fish in the Canal in Hampton Bays. We usually only catch snappers or an occasion sea robbin but all the other people around us catch big fish like blues and what not. I think you need a permit to go there at night though. and it's kinda far out... but totally fun.

Re: FISHING???
we used to go to robert moses, feild 3, where you walk through the tunnel to the other side and we used to catch sooo much snapper. We'd throw the line in, then 2 seconds later, we had a fish! you can do it right off the dock!

Let me know how it goes. This is going back many years ago, but I assume that if there was snapper there once, they should be there now!
