Fitting question...

Fitting question...

If you pay (whatever you pay) for alterations...Does that truly mean that anything they have to do to make the dress fit you is included in that price?

For example, I'm having a little extra poof added to the dress as well as bra-cups sewn in. They didn't say anything about charging for them...

Also, do I need an additional slip? Is that what makes the poof? I'm confused about slips...

as for the slips...it depneds on the dress, mine needed it.

At my salon it stated very clearly on a sign what was not included in the capped alterations. Bra cups and anything extra added to the dress (poof) was not included. But hat was just my place. I would ask.

I'd ask also as I don't think they would be included in the price. My place put it that 'customization' of the dress would not be included. In other words, anything other than making it fit you correctly wouldn't be included. But it depends on the salon.

I had a slip that they said I *needed* when I bought my dress...I could have gone without it personally...some people want that extra pouf.

My alterations were hemming, cups, bustle, and moving the beadwork.....the price was adjsuted after we decided to do cups...you should ask them what it includes.

it depnds... sometimes there is a flat rate...other times you pay for what you get... I would assume getting cups sewn in would be included but you may have to pay seperatly for the cups themself...

My place charged for the losening & tightening stuff, but didn't' charge for reinforing beading & buttons.

I think because that was their call.

I think cups they'd charge for, butif you have a cap( I don't)it may be included-it depends.

A slip will add puffiness. They probbaly don't need to alter the dress anyfor pouf, if you get slip.

Its a poufy slip (like a ballet skirt, made of tulle), not like the kind your wore under your easter dress as a kid.

I didn't get a slip, b/c I was antipouf & my dress has some of its own to start. Now,I'm thinking I should havegotten one,so my waist will look more defined, but it will make it look to short since itis already hemmed.

Kleinfelds comletely rips ou off for alterations. I paid a MANDATORY $400 alterations fee, and then had to spend another $78 on a slip and $20 to sew in cups. Whatever to $500 alterations!

I would check with the seamstress that is altering your dress to be sure. They usually give you a flat rate but may charge extra for certain things (I am not exactly sure what they are).

I got a slip, it makes the lay nicer on you. I had to pay extra for the slip.
