How many weeks before your wedding was your first fitting?
Kleinfeld's is recommending only 6 weeks beforehand?

6-8 is about right.
i got my dress from kleinfelds and i started my alterations end of april for my end of june wedding.

That sounds about right. My wedding is August 11 and I had my first fitting last night.

I started going in the end of may, my wedding is mid august. I had my 3rd fitting today. I am going to have one more b/c the underneeth netting was still too long and i kept stepping on it. Make sure that when you have your fittings Dont just stand on the pedistal most shops have actually walk in your gown without holding up the front! because mine was way too long last fitting and its still needs work, and that can be easy to overlook if it looks ok, but you wont know until you're moving around.

yup... 6 to 8 weeks, but I told Kleinfelds my wedding date was a week earlier than the real date
My wedding was May 12th and my first fitting was the end of March

I had one at 10 weeks and one at 4 weeks (a little different than most since I live out of state and both my dress in state where i lived and wanted it done in time for my mother to bring it back to NY after she was visiting a month prior to wedding)
