I am altering at a different place than I bought it - It was $450 at the store I bought it which is 2 hours from me, or $250 at a bridal place that it literally 1 minute from my house and gets good reviews on here. It just has to be comfortable to you - if you'll really stress out over it it's not worth saving the $$. My mom wanted me to go to ‘her seamstress’ but I was a little nervous about that. Do you have someone in mind already that you've seen their work or got good reviews?

Re: fittings

I bought mine from David's Bridal and am taking it to Phyllis at gownfind where it cost me VERY little to get my dress altered.
