So its 85 days until the wedding and I havent had one dress fitting... is this normal?? I bought my dress from Priscilla of Boston and they have sinced went out of business. As a courtesy, the woman who did the alterations for all their dresses said she will still do the alterations for me out of her house, but every time I call her, she says 'not yet'. I finally called her today and said I have a lot of other appointments to make and I need to schedule my first fitting. She said ok no problem your first fitting can be a month and a half before. Is this too close to the wedding?? I mean I kind of dont mind since I want to lose weight anyway but I am not sure how it is supposed to be.
Anyone else have similar time frame for their fittings?

My dress is somewhat scheduled to arrive the beginning of April. Then I'll have ~ 1 1/2 - 2 months for alterations. I think that is standard to be honest. I hope it is anyway!!! You don't want your alterations done too early too because your body may change.
Hopefully you have a good reliable seamstress though! That would be my only concern, but I think I met that lady you are speaking of before the store closed, to check out sales, and she seemed nice. Not someone who would mess you around.

Thanks so much! Just wasnt sure if that was the norm. She is very nice and I have heard great things about her but I just get a little nervous with it close to the wedding but I guess its all for a good reason.

I think you are fine. My first fitting is two months before my wedding and I am basically changing the whole gown!

my first fitting isn't until march 28th and i need to add bead work a hem and bust tightening they kept telling me to wait too and that their is plenty of time. Also other brides I've talked to said naturally as the bride you drop a lot of weight due to stress the closer it gets and one bride said she went the week of her wedding for her final fitting and they needed to take it in again cause she had gotten so skinny. so I'd say your fine

My first dress fitting is 4/3 and our wedding is 4/29. The bridal shop told me that they are used to this.
