Flabby back of arms..HELP!!!!!!!!

I've been lifting weights for a week or two now on and off, but I don't feel it in the back of my arms (that spot where when you lift your arm it hangs). Also, I need to get rid of that little pouch between my arm pit and my breast. You know what I mean?

Are there any things I can do to get rid of that??

Thanks!!

There are specific weight exercises specifically for those areas. Which ones are you doing?

Well, I've been doing Kathy Smith's time saver workout: life weights to lose weight. She does all kinds like french presses, curls, miltary press, etc. But it doesn't feel like it's working that area. I even alternate between 3-5 lb weights.

I've also just started Walk Away the Pounds. I did the 2 mile tonight and feel great! It's a great warm up for the Kathy Smith Video.

The muscle you're looking to work is your tricep. I can try to explain to you how to work it, but it will be better for you to see a visual. Try looking online for tricep workouts, or in any fitness magazine. I know my program (Body for Life) has visuals online...www.bodyforlife.com. FM me if you want more info.

You have to work your triceps too. It is also hard to explain. You should slso work your bi-ceps in conjunction with your triceps.

The best arm exercise you can do are PUSH-UPS.
It works your upper body.

push-ups will work you armpit area as well as your triceps.

You should be flifting enough weight so that you can't do anymore than 10-12 reps per set. 5 lbs seams a bit light to me.

Your body fat composition in general will determine how much flab you will loose in this area. There is no such thing as spot-reducing. If you grow your muscle in these areas, you will loos fat throughout you whole body, and your arms will be a better shape from using the heavier weight.

I agree w. Snowboardgirl, this has been a problem area for me as well, and since I have lost weight, I am finally seeing a reduction in the flabby arm area. I have been doing Buff Brides weights 3x a week, cardio 3-4x a week, and weights at the gym 1x a week. I found that my biceps got toned really fast, but my triceps came along much slower. Once you tone w. weights regularly, they will start to develop, but it is necessary to burn fat to really see the results. I do the arm wave test in my bathroom mirror to see the results (FH thinks I am a psycho) Good luck!

If you are a size 4, you will see results fast. If tyour a size 10, it will take longer. Just do as haevy weight you can no matter what you size. I am a size 2-4 in clothes and I use 15 lbs per arm.

Don't think that using 8-10 lbs is too much, if you can do 10-12 reps (and no more without help) for 2-3 sets that's a perfect amount of weight. This should apply to all muscle groups.
