Flash photography and ghost face?!!!

I feel like whenever i take flash photography pictures with makeup on, my face looks white!!! But in person, it looks totally natural and the same color as my neck. Even if i just use tinted moisturizer and just a TOUCH of powder, it'll look white.

It doesn't matter what brand...it happens with all of them, clinique, Bare Escentuals...even my beloved MAC.

Is this just due to the direct flash?! Will this happen with wedding photography too....since they also use flash?!

It's due to the direct flash. Most professional photographers will bounce the flash off a white ceiling or use a difuser over the flash.. To reduce 'whiteness' or 'shadows'
Also if you are taking the photo of yourself 3 ft from your face it will definilty make you look like a pale ghost...

Most point and shoot cameras have a very standard weak flash that is nothing like SLR cameras.
