Re: Flat Iron

you have 60 days from Ulta a year from Chi and I'd suggest 2 inch for thick long hair

Re: Flat Iron

I went to Harmon today and they had the Chi for $150 for the 2 inch. If you have a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon they take off 20%. They also had the Solano which I ended up buying because it had the ceramic plates with the comb. It was $79.99 and with the coupon it came out to $68 bucks and change. I'm going to try it tomorrow and let you know how it works.

Stupid question, but is it fairly easy to do with the iron? Does it take a long time?

Yes, it depends upon your hair. My hair has a natural wave to it but it is so heavy it is usually just frizzy. I have thick hair and section it off. Depending upon the weather (humidity) and if I wash it immediately before straightening it takes longer... at least 20 minutes.

To save time in the morning (I have to leave for work by 6:15) I wash my hair the night before and let it air dry and then straighten it in the morning. I also color my hair (have to... 80% gray!) so if I blew it dry and then straightened it it would be a lot of damage on my hair.

Re: Flat Iron

i got my solia in the mail today it works great!! As soon as i got home from work I opened it and tried it out. It only took me 15 mins and i have thick hair but my hair is dry, i will give a review when it's wet. it was 88 bucks at folica.com with free shipping. I have never used a flat iron before so i don't know if that makes any difference.

Re: Flat Iron

How many girls with very thin hair use the flat iron? Which brand would you recommend? Is the 2' really necessary?

i agree working with air dried hair is much quicker and believe it or not you get better results, its straighter.. i wash and then straight every day right before work and i rush to get it done.. its much better how i do it on the weekend, air dry and then straighten.

Re: Flat Iron

I got the maxi-glide and wow does it work great! I have fine hair and not a lot of it, but it did a great job. My hair was also slightly damp and I came from the pool so it was dirty. Can't wait to try it after I wash my hair and put some product in it. It took about 10 minutes to do. What's cool also, is after I did it, I put it in a pony tail and it looked very sophisticated with a really sleek pony too.
