flat screen?

hi guys~
sorry i'm crashing but i just needed some opinions on which flat screens are good for my fiance's wedding gift? is it feasible to get a 42' or bigger for about $2K? Any recommendations on what brand and what to look for? Thanks!

Hi, check these out, they are all pretty good for the money!

Panasonic TH-42PX60U 42' Plasma TV

Samsung HP-S4253 42' Plasma TV

Sony KDF-42WE655 42' Grand WEGA LCD

good luck!

Im crashing to.....

I bought the Sony 42' Grand WEGA LCD for my FH's engagement gift and he loves it..... My friend who is a TV fanatic said that the plasma TVs only last about 2-3 years before they need to be maintenaced (spelling?)and it ends up costing you lots more money.

Re: flat screen?

Sorry to crash, but FH and I just went through all this research for our new TV. We decided on a 46' Sony Bravia - was more than your range on Amazon, but not that far off. Any, the Sony Bravia's and Sharp Aquos LCD's have gotten great reviews on Consumer Reports - so if you went down a bit from our 46' you could probably get one at Amazon within your range. We decided against a plasma.

Re: flat screen?

go for a DLP easier to fix f something goes wrong
if the plasma gets messed up u have to get a new DLP u replace the colorwheel

samsung makes AWESOME DLPS

Re: flat screen?

plasma are under 2k...costco (with coupon) has some great deals for 42'

thats an expensive gift, you sure you want to do that?

personally, i don't understand the whole gift thing between man and woman when you get married.
if its to make up for the ring that you got, that is one thing, but a wedding gift? i don't know..just don't beleive in that.

We just bought the Samsung 46 DLP for under 2k (just over with the HD cables and warrenty but only by a few hundred).

It is amazing and we researched for months.
