Flatbush brooklyn ceremony to Westbury Manor reception???
Did anyone have any commuter nightmares during the week traveling from the ceremony to the reception?...wedding is on a weekday and would set to 3:30pm which is just about the time when traffic would start.

i dont live in bk, i live in queens. But i can almost say for sure that yes there will be traffic especially on a weekday. I would just make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there. Whenever I drive from BK to queens that takes long so to go just a little bit further i say be prepared
Also depends on how you would get there too, do you have any clue what highways you'll take yet. Not sure how much of a difference it would make but i doubt you'll take the BQE which would make it worse. Maybe the belt pkwy, that will take you to the southern state but theres traffic on that too. It will be fine, the limo drivers im sure will be prepared so if you leave with plenty of time before im sure it will be ok

We kinda have them. We have a Friday wedding at 3 in a church in Queens. then the reception is at the Royalton on LI. So we will be traveling just about during rush hour as well. luckily we have the CH starting at 7:30.. so hopefully that gives us more than enough time to get there and take pics. I'm hoping to leave Queens between 4 and 5. Closer to 4.. the earlier the better!

Oh and not only that.. but I booked a trolley and a 1929 rolls royce... so it wil sure look funny during traffic on the LIE (or whatever we take there)!

Just make sure you leave enough time for commuting when the ceremony is over.

Do you gals think making the ceremony at 3:30pm and the cocktails start at 6:30pm sounds good. the ceremony wouldn't really start until 4pm though.

I think you are cutting it close. I travel to and from Brooklyn five days a week and the traffic is VERY unpredictable. On a good day it will take you between an hour and an hour and a half to get from Flatbush to Westbury Manor.

are you doing a mass or just a ceremony? if its a mass then yeah cutting it close, even with ceremony remember right after you dont leave the church immediately. Are you taking pics at WM? or are you taking pics before the ceremony. Just remember to also take into consideration your picture time. If you leave the church at 5pm then basically you will get there at 6:30. You can take your pics during cocktail hour but youll have to try and get all your pics within an hour

wow...Mrs Scott I'm just like you, having it on a Wedsneday...love it!!! Yeah I oringally was going to have the ceremony and reception at WM but we changed our minds and decided to have it at our new Church that is in East Flatbush area. And of course now I'm worried about all the traffic issues.
So you got dressed at WM then? But you mentioned you had a shuttle bus? Or was the shuttle bus from a hotel? How late are we talking here?

The ceremony would only last no more than 30 minutes so we should be done by 4:30pm. We plan to take minimal pics in the sanctuary and greet guest a little and then head right over to WM...so hopefull we would leave the Church by 5:15pm...I thought we could get there in about an hour since whenever me and my fiance go over there we get there in 30mins so I doubled the traffic time to an hour....didn't think it would take more than an hour...mmmmm Yeah we figured we would miss Cocktail hour. What do you gals think?
