I am so p i s s e d right now. I guess it is my own fault for not checking on this earlier - but I called to reconfirm our flight to St. Lucia and the airline agent told me that no seats had been reserved for us. So I say ok - can you please do that - well - there are NO 2 seats left that are together! I will have to fly to my Honeymoon without SITTING NEXT TO my HUSBAND.
Please please please ladies don't let this happen to you. I hope that we can resolve it when we get to the airport - we will just have to show up like 2 1/2 hours early to try and get emergency row or bulk head seating.

I don't understand! How early are you supposed to call the airlines to confirm? I was told two or three days before. How could this have happened to you? What airlines is this??

Sometimes when you book they don't assign you a seat, it's happened to me before. There's only a limited number they can assign at certain times because they usually oversell and expect people to not show up (some people going one way book round trips because they are cheaper, etc.)
Hopefully by getting there early you'll be able to get seats together. Maybe for the inconvenience they'll upgrade you!

Re: Flight Seating for HM
Firstly I blame myself, but the reservation was made through Sandals - back in August - so secondly I blame them. We just received the itinerary and stubs in the mail last Thursday (2-2) - which is what prompted me to call. We are flying American Airlines, but I don't blame them. Worst comes to worse we can ask someone to switch - I am sure I will be hysterical crying if it doesn't work out - that will surely make someone want to switch right?

Where are you flying out of? Last time I flew (last April) the airport had those computers that you could check the seating and switch your seats if you wanted to. We actually had to do that because our seats werent together either (I didnt realize you had to request that when you order your tickets-I thought they would just assume it). But anyway, we were able to get seats together. Plus even if you arent able to do that I am sure if you tell someone you just got married they will switch with you on the flight. It would just be mean to say no to that request!! Im sure you'll get to sit next to him!!

Awww, it's your honeymoon flight! I am sure someone will switch seats so that you can sit together. Just tell the flight attendant when you get on, and I am sure she can make an announcement.

Try pulling up your reservation on the website to see what's available as well, I do that a lot with Continental. You just need your confirmation number to do that.
I find too, a lot of airlines have a higher class of economy (the seats look exactly the same to me) that they don't release until the day of your flight. I usually end up sitting someplace completely different than when I booked.

I'm sure someone will want to switch with you. Now you have me a bit nervous though because we're going to Sandals in St. Lucia too.

If I were you, I would call right now and reserve your seats! Learn from my mistake please!!!

Re: Flight Seating for HM
don't worry. arrive to the airport early and you should be able to get seats together. seats can always be changed... or go ahead and call american airlines, they may put a note so that you can get seated together.
it'll work out. who knows - you may get an upgrade for it. it's rare - but it's happened to me before.

This stuff happens...I would play it by ear. See if there is a single person sitting either with you or your husband and ask them kindly to swap seats. Just a peice of advise, if you decide to do this make sure you do not forget what you originally put in your overhead compartment. This happened to my mother and she forgot her video camera. Good luck.

Re: Flight Seating for HM
I'm so sorry to hear this! Something similar was GOING TO happen to us. We got our flight itinerary and realized that we have a 5 hour ay over in San Juan (we're going to St. Lucia also). We immediately called our agent and got an earlier flight out with a 1 1/2 hour lay over. I'd hate to waste an entire day in a San Juan airport when we're paid Sandals so much
