Flooring Installer/Repair Recommendation?

Anyone have a recommendation for a laminate flooring installer/repair person? I got a list of recommended installers from the Pergo website and have called half the list and no one has yet to return my call. I am in Nassau.

Thanks MichelleW.

Tammy- I didn't try Home Depot's or Lowe's yet. I figured that going to pergo themselves would bring the best people but so far so bad. I do plan to try going to Home Depot and seeing who they would use. Also looking for personal experience - from all the girls out here!

Niecey - I am going through the samw thing you are!! Please share any info that you might get with me.

This is what I have done. Went to Home Depot and Expo. They have installers but I personally hate dealing with Home Depot. I called Flooring World in 110 in farmingdale and LI Paneling. They do pergos and have installers too. LI Paneling said it is about $2.50 to $3.00 a sq. foot and that seems to be the going rate plus materials.

I called the numbers from Pergo too and never got a call back. I am getting frustrated that I am ready to throw carpet down.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Flooring Installer/Repair Recommendation?

Niecey...I am also looking for someone to repair pieces of pergo and called Pergo to ask them if the names that they have on their site are people who they recommend.

They said that the people that are listed are people who completed the pergo training course and have over 5 years experience installing floors (not necessarily pergo). He did caution me that I should get references if I decide to call anyone listed on their site.

I was a little annoyed because they make it seem as though these people are experts are recommended installers/repairers and they aren't. Be cautious!

Re: Flooring Installer/Repair Recommendation?

I know I have done lots of research on this and it is quite annoying. It appears that not many people do the repairs because they aren't easy and the Pergo certification requirements. There are many places that do installs but it was very hard to find someone to do a repair. What annoys me is when I contacted Pergo and asked them for their assistance because none of their recommended installers were calling me back - they basically said nothing we can do. I hate that lack of customer service attitute! Urrgh!

Did you need the name of the person I am dealing with? You can call him and do your own homework and see if he is right for you?

I am in Staten Island - not sure if he'd be willing to travel far, but I'd really appreciate his info! Thanks
