floppy eared best friend has infection

I am posting in hope that someone, somewhere, has had a similar problem and has found something that has actually WORKED. My poor pup gets reoccuring ear infections. We have tried everything. We groom him regularly, clean his ears, bring him to the vet, changed his food and nothing has seemed to help. I am bringing him back to the vet, who I am sure is going to do a 'band aid' type thing and then he will just get another ear infection again. I know that floppy eared dogs have a higher risk of ear infection, but there has got to be a way we can stop this from coming back. It seems like none of the meds the vet give us works. Does anyone have a floppy eared dog w/ this problem? If so, what have you done to improve the situation. My heart is breaking for him. It's very frustrating because we really do try everything and anything and nothing helps . Hoping that someone has some ideas.

my one dog get s a infection about once every 2 months..... i just keep cleaning them every week and when i see more discharge than normal... i give her some of the topical medicine they gave me before....
