Good Morning ladies. I have my first appointment for flowers tomorrow.
Does anyone know what is considered 'average' for a budget for flowers? I really have no idea how much it should cost.
I have six bridesmaids, seven groomsmen, My Mom, Grooms's mom, No flowers at the church and 150 people at the reception (figure 15 tables).
I am afraid they will ask me this question ('What's your budget') and I really don't know what it is supposed to cost! I know it is depending on what flowers you choose, sizes of arrangements, etc. But could you let me know what your budgets are/what your flowers have cost?
Thanks in advance! Gina

What type of flowers are you interested in? Are you looking for high or low centerpieces?

Floral Budgets??
It really depends on what you want to spend and what you are comfortable spending. I didn't want to spend anymore than $2,000 on flowers since we're on a budget and paying ourselves. I went to one place and they basically laughed and said I wouldn't get far with that, then came in over that amount. I went to 4 other places and they all were able to come in under that amount, some more than others. On average I would say low centerpieces should be about $60-65 and high should be about $110-115. I have basically the same amount of people in my bridal party, 10 low centerpieces, flowers for my escort card table and mine came in at about $1200. But you could spend $5000+ depending on what flowers you want and all the extras you may want.

Floral Budgets??
My budget was at or below 2,000. I did not want to go over 2,000 at all. I agree that it all depends on what you want for your wedding (type of flower and type of centerpiece). I am not a flower person so I just wanted something simple and elegant in terms of the type of flower. I am getting 10 high centerpieces(w/ large long-stem white calla lilies & purple dendro orchids), my bouquet, 5 BM bouquet, 2 flower girl bouquets, 9 boutineers, 3 corsages, throw away bouquet and flowers for the cake for $1,650. Which I was very please with in case we need to add 1-2 extra centerpieces, I am still under the budget :) HTH

For the bouquets I would like roses and gerber daisies.
For the centerpieces I actually like the cylinder vases filled with water with the orchids INSIDE.

May I ask who you used? That seems very high based on the other girls responses. You can FM me if you don't want to share on the boards.

Floral Budgets??
Try your local florist. I was quoted through some of the big named companies listed on here and was floored. I only wanted to spend $1500. I am doing candles (buying them on my own 7 supplying all glassware and candles, just wanted a submerged orchid for them). Everyone quoted me insane proces, even with the glassware (most only knocking off $10/centerpiece). For the heck of it I visited my local florist who will set them up for me as long as I buy the flowers. My quote was $1200 to set up 20 candle centerpieces/orchids, my BOK, 6 BM, 1 JR, 12 bout's, 2 MOM's cors, 1 stepmom, 2 godmother, 2 grandma. It's def worth checking out to save!!

I used Flowers By Brian
ETA, I think it might have come to less since our original quote was for more tables, but it was definitely over $4000.
The flowers were absolutely incredible though.

I'm actually doing gerber daisies and roses for centerpieces and for the bouquets I am doing all gerber daisies as they are my favorite. Keep in mind if you want to preserve your bouquet you probably won't be able to with the gerbers. I contacted a place about having my FGs bouquet (all gerbers) made into something and they said they can't preserve gerber daisies as they won't last at all.
If you're interested in who I am using send me FM and I'll send their info.

They told me they don't really charge based on flowers but my CPS has a LOT of roses, stargazer lillies, hydrangea, orchid, etc

My BM bouquets are roses and gerber daisies. I am paying $70 each for mine just to give you a price.
