Yes it's very fun and very cute. We stayed at a bed and breakfast - can't remember the name, but there are TONS of really cute bed and breakfasts down there off of the main street (Duval). Every night at sunset there's a party in Mallory Square (I think that's what its called) where there's jugglers, little craft shops sets up, music, etc. We went to the Hemingway House when we were there and we went fishing on a fishing boat. Make sure to have Key Lime Pie while you're down there!!!

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago (I was doing some research for my boss) regarding Key West in particular
I thought maybe you'd find some useful information on that thread, here is a link to it:
DH and I stayed on Marathon, about 50 miles from Key West. We stayed at a place called the Sombrero. I don't know if I'd recommend it. My aunt stayed at a place called Banana Bay, also on Marathon but there's a couple's-only one on Key West. We loved Key West.
Try www.tripadvisor.com- it has lots of good hotel reviews.

I just saw your post - We're going to Key West for Valentines day - FM me if you have specific questions... I lived in Miami for 4 years (college) so I've been to the Keys a few times... FI hasn't been yet though so i'm REALLY excited to get down there with him!

I think we'll be staying @ the Sheraton on Key West. My DH is from FLorida and has been dying to take me. MY BIL and SIL are going to meet us down there (they are in Florida).

ummm, that's so funny, that's what I just booked. The Sheraton Suites Key West... It's a great choice... There are really no hotels on beaches in Key West - and the Sheraton is RIGHT across the street from like, an amazing beach... right on the gulf... also, ALL the rooms are huge suites, not regular hotel rooms. You can get ocean view, jacuzzi, balcony, whatever you want in the room... but even the suites without all that stuff are GREAT.... also, it's not that far from duval street - i mean, i wouldn't walk, it's like 3 miles, but it's a quick cab ride.

that's hysterical. We are going to go with them b/c we are going with a couple and also b/c my husband works for Sheraton so he gets a GREAT rate.
