Can anyone recommend some good florists? What are the price ranges?
We had looked seriously at the Thatched Cottage for our wedding. Several people I spoke to had very good things to say about it. They all said that the place is beautiful (we also fell in love with it!) and the food was very good. Sounds like a good choice, but a bit expensive, although you get TONS of food. Good Luck.

I am having my wedding at flowerfield in St. James, but it doesn't matter if the florist is in Nassau or suffolk.
I am not worried! We have Buddy Marino on our side!

I was searching for gifts for my bridal party, found a great site. I also got 20 chances to win $1,000 !!! I can really use that for my honeymoon. www.shopeasy.com/004
There was what could have been a wedding disaster in our extended family many years ago. The biggest snow storm to hit New York in ages and no one from out of town could make the wedding. The family made phone calls asking if anyone would be interested in attending their wedding just not to have all the dinners go to waste. Inlaws and friends who weren't invited to attend were asked that day. In large families you can't invite all the family members much less friends to your wedding. They had no problem finding volunteers willing to attend. There are a lot of people who enjoy going to weddings. The bride and groom did quite well and had a great wedding in spite of the weather. They received gifts from those who attended and those who could not. They look back on that day with fond memories.

Anna, thanks for the information. I am going to have the ceremony outside. My mother actually went to 2 florists. One was recommended by Flowerfield which was Burton's which priced out at about $1700, and the other was used by an acquaintance that had a wedding at Flowerfield. It was Bayport flowers which priced at about $4000. We are going to continue to look as well. When are you getting married there?
