i have been going to a few lately and i seem to be running into the same problem at most of them. if you don`t go in with a picture or an exact list of what you are looking for then don`t really help u. i have gotten some prices lately that were really good but didn`t tell me a damn thing about what would be in the BOK. the one that gave me the hiest price sat with me for an hour and told me exactly what she was going to do to each and every BOK.....it`s starting to make me crazy!

Re: florist...
Is there anyone else on the board tonight besides us??
I'm having florist issues too! It's like I either choose exactly what I see or they have no interest in helping out and the prices are insane!!!!!!!!!!
Have you called Flower Michelle or Pedestals yet?? Those are my next calls.

yeahhh i`m thinking no one else is awake or they had much better things to do then sit on the computer
i didn`t want to walk in with a pic and say make me this!!! i wanted something original. i didn`t call either of those places only because i assumed they would be expensive, i have tried the lil (what i call) mom and pop flower shops that are between my house and work. i found one that had awesome prices 65 for my bok 55 for MOH and 45 for bridesmaids but he was kinda like trust me it`ll be beautiful and thats it!

Re: florist...
I went to Burtons today. I'm not sure exactly what flowers I want, but I knew quantity and general style. They have an 'any flower same price' thing, so she was able to give me a quote based on what I needed, but I dont have to pick colors/flowers/etc until 2 months before my wedding - or earlier if I choose.

Re: florist...
I went to Flower Barn with on pics and no idea what flowers I wanted to use. All I new was that I wanted a short cylinder as a base. I met with Michael and he was great, he talked to me about what I like and about my wedding vision. He was very reasonably priced and gives a discount to LIWedding girls.
You should definitely check them out.

Re: florist...
Pedestals, Flower Michele and Flowers by Brian were all really good with helping me bring my vision to life so to say...I didnt have any pics and just by me saying one or two things they knew exactly what I was talking about and were able to elaborate...they gave me prices right away for everything I needed

Re: florist...
my FH's godfather has a small florist shop in the Bronx, and I went with my SIL to him to get centerpieces for my nephew's baptism.
He gave us 3 or 4 books with photos of centerpieces, and then my SIL discussed with him what she wanted to do.
Isn't that standard procedure??

go to John at flower Michele.........we went in with what we were willing to spend and he quoted 50% below it.
We went to 2 other florists and asked for the same Bok's and other flowers Flower Michele was giving us and the cost was 50% - 75% more than what John quoted us.
Flowers by Brian and Pedastals were the higher priced florists
