Florist Advice

Does anyone have recommendations for florists they have used in Queens or Nassau County? Our ceremony is in Queens and the reception in Island Park. We're looking for simple but beautiful. Also, how far ahead did you start calling them?

We used Murphy & Co. in Bayside and I was very happy with everything. Be sure you tell them to deliver your bouquets a bit earlier than you really want them. I cut it too close, and when they were delayed by about 20 minutes it made it tight for the photos before the ceremony. Other than that, they were great - you can see my full review in the vendor review section and my profile has a picture with the bouquet.

I am getting ready at my mom's house in East Rockaway the morning of the wedding, so we wanted to go with a florist that was local. Since my reception hall provides the table centerpieces and the Church has floral arrangements already there, we really just needed to go with bouquets, bouts and corsages. We stayed with local florists in the Rockville Centre area. We looked at Masters & Company and Silver Stems. We booked Silver Stems on Sunrise Highway. We ordered my bridal bouquet, 1 maid and 1 matron of honor and 4 BM's, 9 bouts and 4 corsages (could be anything we want flower wise), and it came to $630. Basically all the bouquets are roses. Other estimates we got were all in the same price range. Just don't rule out any local florists. We got a good deal we think and are very happy. They show you pictures and will call you to come in a see a wedding set go out if you want.
