Went to my first florist appointment earlier today. I was a little disappointed. The lady was really nice, super helpful and had a bunch of great ideas. However, when we first started the convo she asked me what my budget was, I told her Id really like to stay under $2000. When she came back she said she was a little over the budget, $3570.. how about close to double my budget She said we could always choose different flowers if it was too much money... which I thought we would have done from the beginning knowing what my ideal budget was. I went in idealess for centerpieces so she made all suggestions, I just wished she would have started with flowers that were in my budget to begin with. Oh well! Anyone have any florist recommendations?

Wow that sucks! Her 1st question should have been your budget and then she should have given you options within your budget. She probably wanted you to fall in love and spend more money!! Just out of curiosity, do you mind telling me what florist you went to visit? You can FM if you prefer.
I plan to check out Distinctive Floral in Mineola probably sometime this or next month. I spoke with them at the bridal expo and the lady was really nice and some of the pricing I got wasn't too bad. So I'm looking forward to sitting down and discussing options.

It was the Arygle Flower Shop in Babylon. I have nothing bad to say about the place, or the lady we spoke with. We really loved everything, just didnt love that she gave us ideas that she had to of known were way out of our price range. When she gave us the breakdown, everything was super reasonable, it was just the centerpieces that were crazy! We did low centerpieces with candles and it came out to about $115 a table. Hopefully the next appointment goes a bit better!

Yea.. CP's are so much money! I will most likely do low CP because I know they will be cheaper but part of me wants tall 1s because they're sooooo pretty and I was envisioning hanging jewels.. I might try to see about the option of doing 1/2 low, 1/2 high. We'll see.

Go back to Argyle she will help you cut the order, you just have to tell her again. Same thing happened with me but we worked it out. Her deals are better than other florists. She also is a lot nicer than a lot of other florists. You can go to others but you'll see the $$

Plse try b*u*r*t*o*n*s. They do not charge foe specific flowers if they can get them they are yours! They charge 50 deposit rest is due at mtg prior to wedding. They were great I wanted pieces that would elongate my tables and thru helped me create a timeless look. They are nice and are not a factory. They also came in $1200 under my othe quotes. Hth
