Well if you know she checks her email every day.... send her an email (even though she didn't respond back to the first one haha) just saying - while you would have loved to have worked with her for your wedding, you just feel that you'd rather remain on a business level with all of your vendors and have decided to go with another florist for your wedding.

Re: florist drama...update...need advice!
I would say that a family relative decided to purchase floral for me and we are going with another florist she is comfortable with.. HTH

That's good too! If all else fails, blame a relative!

That is a good one, but I don't want to lie because I think it'll somehow get back to me. FH mom and the family friend still talk...and FH mom has a big yap
I need something honest but respectful. I don't want to sound rude or abrupt.

Well isn't it the truth that you'd rather be on a business/professional level rather than personal one with your vendors? I didn't book with a friend of a friend as a vendor because I wanted every thing to be all business in case any situations came about.

I would say something along the lines of: I know you are extremely booked up with your other weddings and have been so kind to offer to do this favor for us, but we just don't feel right asking you to do this and we would rather have you enjoy the wedding as a guest.

yes, I would rather be on a professional level...but idk, i feel like that won't come out the right way....we've been trying to work with her for nearly two months and now I decide that? Idk...
Karin, It wasn't really a favor...she quoted us an arm and a leg!! lolol
I think I'll just end up saying something like thank you so much for your time, we decided to go in a different direction...can't wait to see you at the wedding...? hmph.
I am overthinking this agghh...it's harder than I thought. I have to sit on it for a bit.

I agree with Kat and Eunice. A little white lie is just fine when it comes to vendor changing. I have done it myself and have no shame in my game!!

Re: florist drama...update...need advice!
i think you should say something to the effect of we've seen your work and know it's beautiful but feel it's only right that for the amount of time you are willing to put in for us, that we don't expect you to do the work for nothing or feel insulted thinking we expect it to be for nothing so we think we are going to use another vendor because our relationship with you is far more important than flowers at a wedding...plus if you are inviting them to the wedding you could throw in there that we felt it was a lot to ask of you on our wedding day for you to be there to celebrate and worry about flowers as well...and how you would much rather value her as a guest then think of her as a vendor on your wedding day...
basically play it in such a way that you want to take the obligation off her shoulders for her...but don't ask her, just say you are...
