Florist Help...

I am finally getting off my azz and going to a florist today.
I made a post on the VHB board listing what I need with some pics of what I like...
any ideas on how much I should expect this to cost?

One florist already quoted me $450 through an E-Mail and another said that my expectations are totally unrealistic even though I never gave them a budget...

Here is the Post on VHB

I went to a local florist in my town and I am paying about 600 for:
7 BM bo-ks
my bo-k
throw-a-way bo-k
10 boutineers
rose petals
2 moms bo-ks

I am having all roses. I went to big name florists and was quoted double and triple for these things! In the end, I went with the florist that my family has used for years

Wedding World was kind of mean to me and almost made me cry.
I still want to talk to them though, so do you think maybe you can call them since they already like you and see if you can set up an apointment for me? lol
I don't think Will really cares about going to the florist so you can make it for whenever, and I can try to get my mom to take me.

How can they be unrealistic if you didn't specify price? You just said what you wanted...?

Unless they meant the type of flowers I want is unrealistic but they didn't specify that, plus other florists already said it's doable...

what did they do that upset you?

You should be able to get peonies in March, but they may be more $. Roses will be cheaper, but maybe you can mix roses and peonies with the light blue hydrangea.

Its not unrealistic- thats hogwash

check wedding world, flower barn, flower michele and burtons thats where i got my best prices

I am def going to check out Wedding World, and I want to meet with Flower Barn.

Also try putting google to work and searching for other people- you never knwo what you might find!

Im using Burtons, so they will already be there that day... but I know you are also using a church right?

Try Verbena and LA BLossom too- Peonies will have to be imported in March

Hydrangea are $$$ but they'll cover more area ...try lyseanthis- they're smaller than peonies but will give you a similar effect and theyre MUCH cheaper

mike at flowerbarn is so sweet. Also if you find vases you like somewhere else if you get them at a good price pick them up and they will work with you....vases are alway an extra charge wether you keep them or not. I got an awesome quote from flower barn cause i wasnt using their vases

if so, were they more or less than the others b/c we are using them and they were about $1000 less than a few others.
