Re: florist help please

Have a list of what you are going to need in flowers (for who/what) estimate how many tables you might have as well so you get ideas for how many centerpieces you'll need.. ..
Also go with ideas (pictures) of what you want so florists get a clear vision of what you want. Also mention any specific flower types that you want to them.
Also if you have a flower budget let them know about what it is so they can work with you.

I think that is pretty much it.. anything I might have left out?

PS-Also ask about paying cash for all of it- sometimes you can avoid paying tax if you pay all cash.

All great tips...also, be sure to ask to see something similar to what you are ordering so that you can see the size of the CP or BOK..a lot of times 100 flowers, for example, sounds like it could be a big piece, but depending on how they arrange them and what they use, it could come out really much smaller than you expected.

Also know that most florist throw in free rose petals for the FG to throw, as well as petals for the card table, sign-in table, cake table, for the cake if you want and also for the CH tables if you want those too.

Depending on if you are getting married on a church or not, altar baskets can get pricey....if your altar is decorated, you may not want to pay an extra 3-800 dollars for those. Don't let them fool you that EVERYONE gets them. ALso, if you do get them, they don't have to match your RH CP's or your BOK..they are simple white for church in most cases. (I'm being VERY general here....each person does there own thing, I just know from asking around what is the basic and the norm, as well as what is an upgrade).

Umm, carnations and daisies are very inexpensive.....don't let them give you high numbers for them. Calla lillies are more expensive than roses (not really that much more though..unless you get exotic colors that are hard to find). The 'filler' flowers they use like baby's breath and pink wax flowers are just two....there are others so ask to see what color combo you like.

Umm, lots of places give you the low CP vases for free, but lend you the tall with the option to buy.

For tall CP's, they offer to 'float' flowers in the vase since they are high.....if you like that, they are usually included, not more.

For FH and his GM, calla lillies are by far the strongest flower to have pinned on their lapels all day. They hold up to heat very well *summer weddings for example* and do not crush/crinkle as easily as other flowers (when they are hugging/getting hugged throughout the day).

These are just some things I remember from the places I went....hope that my experiences helped you in some way : )

One thing I did was save pics of the types of flowers I liked - either online or printed them. I sent them to her so she could see the type of style i was looking for...
