Florist Question

What do you do on your first appt with them and if you decide to book them how much do they ask for a deposit?

i booked flowers about two months before the wedding, since all i needed was bo-k's, bouts and some flowers for the cake.
At the meeting i brought pictures of what i wanted. He made a sample bo-k and made some suggestions. I paid about half the amount of the total cost for the deposit.
