Florist Question

Im still not sure about colors but I would like to book a florist soon, do I need to know what colors I exactly want before I sign the contract? Can I just give them how much I need and a basic idea then change it when I know?

Re: Florist Question

It might depend on the florist but i dont have to give final decisions until a few weeks before the wedding with a $50 deposit. Worked for me. If your goiong for more high end flowers you should check out B urtons...they dont charge by flower type.

Yeah, if u're not sure about the colors or flowers they can def help u with that. Try Christopher from Pedestals, he's such an awesome floral designer and knows how to combine flowers and colors amazingly!

i don't know exactly but i think it might only be a problem if you are asking for a rare or more unusual color (ie i think lavendar roses are more rare and therefore possibly pricier than pink). i couldn't imagine it would be a problem if you wanted something more readily available. otherwise, id say assume you are going for normal and deal with the possibility of them adding premiums on if you know you might add something special later. best of luck!

Yeah, with B*urton's, it doesn't matter since they don't charge by flower type. You can let them know later on.

Depends on the florist. If they charge by flower type then they will give you a more accurate quote.

If they dont charge by flower type then its fine.

I think it depends more on the flower. They give you a quote and then that could always change later if you make up your mind on what you want.

Re: Florist Question

When I met with my florist, I gave her a basic idea of what I was looking for and she wrote up a price quote. I have since changed a few things (colors, took out some types of flowers and added others in) but there was no change in price. I would think any florist could prepare a contract and then adjust it as you have a better idea of what you want - they must have that happen all the time.

This! My wedding is in 15 days and i'm still changing colors and ideas and the florist doesnt' mind. The price hasn't changed either.

I had no idea what I wanted and changed my minf about 5 times. My florist was always great about it and 3 weeks before presented us with samples that were perfection, and she did 3 weeks in case I changed my mind again so she had a week to make a new sample. The deposit was of our choosing and even when I added more expensive flowers to some of my arrangements she didn't charge me too much more (she was so fair). She was one of our top vendors for sure!

Re: Florist Question

I think it's going to depend on the florist. One of the ones I met with, made it seem like everything was set in stone, no changes. The one that I picked wrote into the contract that I could change colors or flowers (but depending on the changes, it could cause the cost of flowers to increase)
